Our process can vary depending on the project, but we always begin with Discovery to learn more about your business and requirements for your website. This includes creating user personas, user personas, key use cases, as well as competitive analysis, evaluation of current pain points, business goals, industry best practices.
The next part of the process is an Audit, which can include equity analysis, identification of areas of opportunity, a takeaway synthesis, and a WCAG 2.0 accessibility check.
Next, we define Structure and Navigation for your website (information architecture or IA), a site map, and content outlines for each page. When the IA and content for your site are in the works, we begin to work on a Design Concept and Page Layout. Deliverables include visual positioning, mood-boards, concepts of the key web pages, high-fidelity wireframes, and sometimes an interactive prototype.
After you’ve decided on a design concept, we move forward with Visual Design. Then, when the AI, content, and design are finalized, we can begin Development. We develop all web pages and components using HTML/CSS and load content into a CMS. The last part of the process is applying any Visual Content to your site, such as iconography, illustrations, and photos, and connecting any third-party Integrations like your CRM or testing tools that are necessary for your site.
We have weekly project stand-ups. We like to use Slack for instant messaging, Trello for tracking tasks throughout the project, because they support collaboration which is a primary value of our agency. We also use screencasts for presentations.
We usually spend about three months for design and two months for development, but keep in mind that each project is different.
It depends on who and how a client will maintain a website after it’s launched. If a client has a development team in their organization, we recommend Jamstack. If a client is a startup or they don’t have a dedicated app developers or web designer to work on their website, we recommend Webflow.
